This November, the European Broadcastin Union’s Kids International Friendship Initiative, will encourage children across Europe to simultaneously take part in a dance on 12 November 2020 symbolizing inclusion and friendship. In an initaitive spearheaded by the Norewegian broadcaster NRK every year, the aim is to stand together with one clear message for a whole week. This year the meassage is: ‘Say hi, be a friend to someone!’.
This year, with the help of the EBU, the plan is to make this experience happen on a European level, to promote friendship and kindness in schools and to stand up against bullying.
The campaign is also supported by the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Some of the #SayHi content will be seen during the Junior Eurovision opening ceremony and on its social media.
The broadcasters taking part include broadcasters in Japan and Kosovo! The full list is: VRT (Belgium); CR (Czech Republic); GPB (Georgia); KiKa/ ZDF (Germany); MTVA (Hungary); Rai (Italy); NHK (Japan); RTK (Kosovo); LRT (Lithuania); NRK (Norway); RTVSLO (Slovenia); RTVE (Spain) and ORF (Austria).
