Sanremo 2021 winners and Italy’s Eurovision representatives, Måneskin, have released the final version of their song, Zitti e Buoni.

As per the rules of the contest, “no swearing or other unacceptable language” is allowed in the lyrics of any competing entry. In addition to this, the song was slightly too long. Therefore, to fit in with the rules of Eurovision, Måneskin have slightly edited the wording of some of the lyrics. However, fans of Zitti e Buoni will be pleased to hear that the melody and arrangement remains exactly the same in the new version, which you can listen to right here:

The first change is that the intro has been cut from 10 seconds to 6 seconds, which along with the slight shortening of the second verse has meant the song is now within the 3 minute time limit.

In terms of changes to the lyrics, the phrase “vi conviene toccarvi i coglioni” (you better touch your balls) has been replaced with “vi conviene non fare più errori” (you better not make more mistakes). And finally, the line in the bridge “non sa di che c—o parla” (they don’t know what the f—k they talk about) has been altered to “non sa di che cosa parla” (they don’t know what they talk about).

What do you think of Italy’s song this year? Could Måneskin bring a third Eurovision victory to the country? Let us know in the comments below!
