Kazakstan to hold un-televised open selection for Junior Eurovision 2020!

Kazakh broadcaster Khabar TV has announced that they will hold an internal open selection for Junior Eurovision 2020.

All kids aged from 9 to 14 can submit a song, that reaches the requirements: songs must be 3 minutes long and at least 60% in Kazakh. The submission window opens on the 10th of August, and will close 10 days later on the 20th of August. After which a selected jury will determine the country’s entrant. unlike 2018, but like 2019, the selection will not be televised.

 The jury consists of: 

  • Amre (Winner of Slavinski Bazar 2018)
  • Erlan Bekchurin (Producer for Dimash Kudaibergen) 
  • Bagym Mukhidenova (Music Producer)
  • Dinaya (Runner-up of New Wave Junior 2015)
  • Indira Edulbayeva (Superfinalist of the Voice Ukraine 2020)
  • Zhanar Dugalova (WInner of the Turkvision Song Contest 2014)
  • Khamit Shangaliyev (Music Producer, Composer, and sound producer)
  • ZaQ (Lead singer of ‘Ninety one’)

Kazakhstan in Junior Eurovision

Kazakhstan joined Junior Eurovision only 2 years ago, in 2018. They have gotten some pretty impressive results, with a 6th place in 2018 when Daneliya Tuleshova sang Ózińe sen, and in 2019 Yerzhan Maksim won the jury vote, and got second overall with his song Armanyńnan Qalma.
