Kazakhstani broadcaster Khabar has urged Kazakhstan to get behind its act Karakat Bashanova. To help with supporting their act the public is being recommended to vote in the Junior Eurovision 2020 online voting.
Yerlan Bekkhozhin, Chairman of the Board of the Khabar Agency, used the case of Junior Eurovision 2019 jury winner Yerzhan Maxim as an example. He explained:
“I remember the case with Yerzhan Maxim, when he took second place. Interestingly, the jury put first place. We, the people of Kazakhstan, dropped it to second place. There were simply not enough votes. So it’s a shame. And, unfortunately, it often happens with us when a talented child appears, we are proud and admire him. But when he needs concrete help, we all rely on each other, but, unfortunately, this does not work. Therefore, we again call and ask to support our girl.”
Kazakhstan is one of the favourites to win Junior Eurovision 2020 following the snippet release of all the 12 competing entries. Other countries including Malta, Ukraine and Belarus broadcasters have urged their nation to vote for their act in the online voting.
