We have our 12! The Kazakh national broadcaster, Khabar, have announced the final 12 acts vying to represent Kazakhstan to Move The World at the 2020 Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Warsaw, Poland.
A total of 650, 000 votes were cast during the online voting period between 26- 31 August and these 12 acts managed to qualify with around 30,000 votes each.
With the final 12 now complete, we will find out on the 26th September who will be representing Kazakhstan in Warsaw this November. The eventual Kazakh representative will be decided entirely by public voting via telephone or SMS. In the event of a tie, the jury will then determine the winner.
Kazakhstan has had two very successful stints in Junior Eurovision. They made their debut in 2018 with Daneliya Tuleshova as their representative. She sang the song Ózińe sen, placing 8th in the jury with 68 points and 3rd in the televote with 103 points, coming in 6th overall with 171 points. The following year Yerhan Maksim gave a better result with his song Armanyńnan qalma. He came 2nd overall with 227 points, coming 1st in the jury with 148 points and 5th in the televote with 79 points.
