Freya Skye has the honour of representing United Kingdom in Yerevan with her upbeat pop smash 'Lose My Head'. Here is all the information you need on Freya and her song!
Who is Freya Skye?
Freya Skye is 13 years old from Buckinghamshire in United Kingdom. Freya developed a love of singing after receiving a karaoke machine as a present when she was 5.
During lockdown, the singer-songwriter took the opportunity to release her debut single and write more songs, including I Love The Way, which featured on BBC Introducing.
In her spare time, Freya enjoys cuddling up with her dog Ruby and watching movies, teaching herself the piano, and following her favourite football team, Tottenham Hotspur.
Freya found out she had been chosen to represent the UK when she was taken by her parents to a London theatre on the pretext that she needed to do one more audition.
How did she get selected?
The song representing the United Kingdom had been chosen by the British head of delegation, Lee Smithurst, out of a pool of shortlisted songs. CBBC, together with BBC Studios Entertainment and Music, were tasked with selecting a singer in co-operation with the British commercial talent agency Buzz Kids. On 3 November 2022, it was revealed Freya Skye will represent the country with the song “Lose My Head”.
Tell us about the song!
Lose My Head was written by Jack Hawitt, Amber Van Day and Deepend. The song centres around friendships, moving on and leaving the past behind. Freya’s amazing vocal ability combines perfectly with the synth bass lines throughout the song to provide a modern, fresh, danceable banger that we just cant stop listening too!

Sing along to 'Lose My Head': Lyrics
English
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
You’re a wrecking ball in a house of cards
Falling one by one
And I tried real hard like the queen of hearts
In a war I finally won
You are dangerous, give it all I got
But now it’s over and done
‘Cause when you lie, waste my time
I say bye-bye
You like the attention
Never learn your lesson
All the consequences
That’s all on you
It’s kinda messed up
You try to impress but
I got twenty seconds
Until I losе it, yeah
You get what you want when you want it
Your kind should’vе come with a warning
No, I can’t hide from the truth
I lose my head over you
You take what you need when you need it
Two shocks to my heart just to feel it
No, I can’t make no excuse
I lose my head over you
You, you, you, you
I lose my head over you
You, you, you, you
On a rainy day, looking through the glass
That was all it took
And I tried to stay in my wonderland
But I was out of luck
Took it way too far when I said I wouldn’t
And I kept doubling up
But honestly, don’t you see?
It’s my party
You like the attention
Never learn your lesson
All the consequences
That’s all on you
It’s kinda messed up
You try to impress but
I got twenty seconds
Until I losе it, yeah
You get what you want when you want it
Your kind should’vе come with a warning
No, I can’t hide from the truth
I lose my head over you
You take what you need when you need it
Two shocks to my heart just to feel it
No, I can’t make no excuse
I lose my head over you
You, you, you, you
I lose my head over you
(You, you, you, you)
Ha-ha ooh
(You, you, you, you, I lose my head over you)
Oh ooh (You, you, you, you)
I lose my head over you
Ah-ha (No, I can’t hide from the truth)
(I lose my head over you)
You take what you need when you need it
Two shocks to my heart just to feel it
No, I can’t make no excuse
I lose my head over you
You, you, you, you
I lose my head over you
You, you, you, you
I lose my head over you
