The 18th edition of The Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be broadcast live from the TVP Headquarters in Warsaw on Sunday 29th November.
During a press conference on TVP yesterday, the three Junior Eurovision 2020 hosts gave many interviews. In one of these interviews, with JastrzabPost, Rafał Brzozowski revealed that the TVP Headquarters would play host to this years contest. The show will be broadcast live from studio 5, block F. This is the same place where the Polish Eurovision national finals were held, up until 2008. You can check out TVP Virtual Tours to see what the studio looks like inside.
The venue also has another Eurovision link, almost, as it was originally planned to host the Eurovision Dance Contest in 2009, before the host country was changed to Azerbaijan. Eventually though, the contest was cancelled due to lack of participants.
It was confirmed back in the summer that this years contest would be taking place in a television studio rather than an arena, mainly due to lack of suitable venues in Warsaw, and also because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. As we have previously written about, some delegations will travel to Poland to record their performances in the studio in Warsaw.
