Jérémie Makiese has expressed his interest in representing Belgium at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022. Last April, the artist won the latest season of The Voice Belgique.

At 20 years of age, the young man was with mentor B.J. Scott. In an interview with the newspaper La Meuse, he revealed: “In addition to my single, my other project is Eurovision. It would be a great honour to represent my country next year.”

For now, it is expected that RTBF, the same broadcaster which produces The Voice Belgique, will assume responsibility for the Belgian selection for Eurovision 2022, in a process that has been internal for many years now. In recent years, Roberto Bellarosa (2013), Loïc Nottet (2015), Blanche (2017) and Eliot Vassamillet (2019) came out of this internal format for Eurovision.
