Dutch reporter Cornald Maas has revealed on an RTL syndicated program that the Dutch song will be delivered towards the beginning of March. After a long time of no information from the host country for Eurovision 2021, the silence has been broken as we discover that it will be revealed in the coming weeks.

The Netherlands joins the considerable rundown of other contenting countries who are holding out until March to uncover their 2021 entries. However, this is more usual for the Dutch as they don’t commonly reveal their song until March. In 2019, Arcade was released on March 7th.

While talking on the Dutch syndicated program Koffietjd, Cornald Maas remarked on the forthcoming delivery date and his assessment of 2021 representative Jeangu Macrooy. Cornald Maas could be viewed as a specialist on the matter, as he provided commentary for The Netherlands in Eurovision from 2004-2010 and again from 2014 onwards. He was also named as the Creative Advisor for Eurovision 2020.

In the interview, Maas paid homage to the attitude and perseverance of Jeangu, and the way he approached the cancellation of the 2020 contest, and the lead up to the 2021 contest: “I have a lot of appreciation for Jeangu and his team for how they dealt with the situation. A year ago, it was cancelled, and he was immediately re-selected to represent us and that was justified, I found. That you give him another chance for taking part after missing the contest, then, at the same time, you go into it less uninhibitedly, because you know you have to deliver a song that is suitable. Meanwhile, you also have to do it in a time that is not really inspiring. Corona, lockdown, you get to know less new things but Jeangu is miraculously succeeding in that mission.”

Are you excited to hear Jeangu’s song? What are you expecting from him? Let us know in the comments!
