Iceland have officially confirmed that Daði Freyr & Gagnamagnið will represent Iceland at Eurovision 2021. And their Eurovision 2020 song ‘Think About Things’ will receive its much deserved broadcast on Saturday night British primetime. The song will be the music for Jamie Laing and Karen Hauer’s first dance, the Cha-Cha-Cha, on the popular dancing show Strictly Come Dancing.
The song has achieved much media attention in the United Kingdom, even with the cancellation of Eurovision 2020. Hype began building for Daði Freyr & Gagnamagnið just after their victory in Söngvakeppnin 2020, with famous names including Dan Walker publicly tweeting their support for the song back in March. Traction continued with the song becoming popular on Tiktok, with users uploading videos of themselves performing moves from the iconic Söngvakeppnin performance and music video. Commercially, the song reached the Top 40 in the UK charts and featured in the UK Top 50 for Spotify.
Do you think any of Dadi’s will be incorporated into the dance routine? Are you excited to see another Eurovision song featured on Strictly Come Dancing? Let us know in the comments below!
