After being initially confirmed as Israel’s Eurovision 2023 representative on July 11th, just one day later, Noa was quick to shut this down, stating that her Eurovision participation was still a “maybe”.
Now, it seems we have another confirmation of Noa’s Eurovision 2023 participation, and this time, it’s for real! Speaking in a press conference this morning with IPBC at the Carlton Hotel in Tel Aviv, the singer confirmed that she will be representing Israel at next years contest.
“I had to put my ego and concerns aside. I’m not used to being in a situation of competing with people. Recently, I also learned about the risks, and that not everything falls and rises on artistry and performance, but in a decision from the heart, I put all that aside and go out with complete faith. I’m setting out to bring great honor to the country.”
However, the Israeli singer mentioned, in an interview with Asti Perez and Dorit Asraf Mizrahi on the show “Bacham Hayom”, that the initial confirmation of her participation was a bit too much to handle at first.
“I had to let the madness pass in order to make this decision myself. It went to the media and there was a huge uproar. I was waiting for everything to calm down.”
The singer seems to have changed her tune though, stating that Eurovision is the most exciting thing there is: “Representing the country at Eurovision is the most exciting thing there is. This is what motivates me to do this thing. I walk down the street and people tell me ‘how fun you are representing us.”
Noa has confirmed that she has received artistic freedom from the broadcaster regarding the song she will sing at Eurovision: “This is the most important thing in the competition, you have to think together and make a decision.”
