Jan Dulles, one of the three members of The 3JS, has just won the second season of the Dutch version of The Masked Singer as Neptune! With 59% of the votes he beat his opponent The Fox. In 2011, The 3JS represented the Netherlands with their song ‘Never Alone’ with which they failed to qualify, finishing 19th with 13 points in the Semi-final.
In the very first episode of the season, we also saw a very familiar face, namely Willeke Alberti, she was eliminated in the first episode and unmasked as the ‘Vuurvogel’ (Bird of fire). Willeke Alberti represented The Netherlands at Eurovision 1994 with her song ‘Waar Is De Zon?’ where she finished 23 with just 4 points.
The Netherlands in one of the 7 debuting countries in the 1956 contest. In fact, the first song ever in Eurovision, came from the Netherlands, Jetty pearl sang De Vogels Van Holland, which was the first ever song performed on the Eurovision stage. The Netherlands has 7 top 3 placements, of which 5 are winners! Eurovision 1956 participant Corry Brokken won the second contest ever held. The other winners of the Netherlands are from 1959, 1969, 1975, and the most recent one 2019. Since the introduction of semi-finals in 2004, The Netherlands have failed to reach the final 9 times, of which 8 times in a row from 2005 till 2012. However, since 2013, they have only missed out in 2015.
