German broadcaster NDR has confirmed their participation in the 2021 Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

Reflecting on their 2020 debut, the German Head of Delegation, Ulrike Ziesemar, said in an interview with ESC Kompakt:

“Looking back, I am very proud of what our debutante Susan and the entire team have achieved. In our first year, we “did everything ourselves” in an extremely short time, from finding the candidate to producing the music video, to the show video with KiKA and ZDF – and all of that despite various hurdles that the coronavirus put in the place.”

When the question was asked about participation in the 2021 contest, Thomas Schreiber, Head of Entertainment at NDR said:

“I am happy to provide the answer. Yes, Germany will be at Junior Eurovision 2021.”

Germany made their Junior Eurovision debut in 2020, after deciding to withdraw their participation in both the 2003 and 2004 contests. In 2020, their artist Susan was selected after she won Dein Song für Warschau (Your Song for Warsaw) with the song, Stronger With You. The song finished in last place with 66 points.
