A top-tier trio of Eurovision stars!
SVT has invited along Eleni Foureira, Eric Saade and Chanel to perform the opening act of the First Semi-Final.
Three artists well known to Eurofans who will be there to launch the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in the best possible way!
The performances of these three artists should remind all fans, and especially this year’s competitors, that you don’t have to win the contest to become an icon. Indeed, none of the three won the contest in 2011, 2018 or 2022.
As a reminder (in case any of our readers have suffered a bout of amnesia), our three superstars will also reprise the performance that made them so popular.
Eric Saad, Sweden 2011
He gave Sweden a bronze-medal finish at the 2011 Contest! His musical career continued after that, releasing new albums and touring Scandinavia. His love story with the Eurovision does not end there, as he was also host in the green room in Malmö 2013.
Eleni Foureira, Cyprus 2018
Diva came out of nowhere in 2018, robbing her semi-final before attempting the same heist in the Grand Final, offering Cyprus a 2nd place in Lisbon. This was Cyprus best result to date and its highest points tally too, with an incredible 436 points. Scoring smash hits ever since, she is back for our greatest pleasure!
Chanel, Spain 2022
Winner of the new formula in Benidorm, Spain, Chanel gave Spain its best result since 1995! In Turin, she even came to winning the famous ESC250 ranking that same year. With Slomo she gave Spain its highest points total ever, 459!
It’s set to be a spectacular show that will kick off this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in style and we cannot wait for it! What about you guys?
