The dates for Festival da Canção 2024 have been confirmed.
The Portuguese broadcaster has confirmed that Festival da Canção will be taking place between February 24th and 9th of March 2024, with semi final one on February 24th, semi final two on March 2nd and the final on March 9th.
A total of ten acts will compete in each semi final, with six acts from each semi final qualifying to the final. The first round of voting will be 50% televoting / 50% jury voting, and will determine five of the qualifiers. The second round of voting will be 100% televoting and will determine the sixth qualifier. In the final however, there will be just one round of voting with a 50/50 split.
The 20 songs and artists competing in this years edition of Festival da Canção will be revealed on January 18th. A presentation will be held by RTP at club Musicbox in Lisbon at 11:30 GMT.
Last year, Portugal was represented by Mimicat in Liverpool with her song “Ai coração”, where she finished in 23rd place with 59 points.
