Do you remember Omar Naber? The Slovenian singer and songwriter represented Slovenia twice in Eurovision, with his own songs: in 2005 he sang the rock ballad “Stop” and in 2017 he sang the ballad “On My Way”. Now he has released his new single “Cesta in nebo” (Road and Sky).
His “new” release isn’t actually that new, since Omar wrote the song ten years ago, but, it has taken him so long to release it as he was waiting for a special opportunity to do so.
“Cesta in nebo” is about freedom, passion, endless opportunities in life and about how you dare to follow your dreams no matter what. The song is in a rock-pop style, which is very similar to a lot of Omar’s previous music.
These are the translated lyrics of “Cesta in nebo“:
I stand alone at the train station.
I’m scared, but I’m laughing.
Mama gives me as a memory green rosemary.
May God be with you my son.
I have the road and the sky to reach into.
Every step faithfully and just as the day wants.
Hundreds of hiking trails
You are waiting for me these days.
To show what I have let the whole world know.
What I know to catch a wave from a dream.
I have the road and the sky to reach into.
Every step faithfully and just as the day wants.
I count the steps alone at the train station.
I’m waiting to catch a wave of dreams.
