Elina Nechayeva, who represented Estonia in Eurovision 2018, where she finished 8th, has released her new song Lind. It is her first song written and composed by herself!
Elina Nechayeva wrote Lind thinking about the person most precious to her, her grandmother.
‘We all think of our loved ones who have left this world, and hope that their souls are somewhere close and that they will see what we are doing from above in the clouds . I wrote the song “Bird” thinking of my grandmother’ Elina said.
Lind is the third song on Elina Nechayeva’s new album, which will be released in late Autumn! Furthermore, on the 8th of December Elina’s first big solo concert will take place in the Saaku Suurhall in Tallin!
Estonia has made 25 appearances at the Eurovision Song Contest since making its debut in 1994. Estonia intended to debut in the 1993 contest, however, they failed to make it to the final. In 2001 Tanel Padar, Dave Benton and 2XL won the contest with the song Everybody, which brought the contest to Tallin in 2002, where Estonia ended 3rd. Estonia’s Most notable entries include: Leto Svet (2008) Rändajad (2009) and La Forza (2018) Uku Suviste won Estonia’s National Selection Eesti Laul, which has been running since 2009, and was supposed to represent the country in Rotterdam, before the contest was cancelled.
