Eldar is Ready To Catch If You Fall with new single release

Eurovision 2011 winner Eldar Gasimov has released his brand new single “Catch If You Can” alongside an official music video.

The song, which could be described as an emotional pop song, has been written by Eldar himself alongside Omar Abdulkarimov and Farhad Musayev, who also mixed and mastered the song. The original version of the song featured the traditional Azerbaijani instrument, the Balaban. 

The song is about lending a helping hand to try and overcome physical and mental difficulties together: “I’ll catch if you fall, I’m there for you”. The music video tells the story of a guy (Eldar) who is desperately trying to save a girl (Marina Dar) from a drug addicition and life of dangerous liasons. Filmed in various locations around Baku, it was directed and scripted by Ganbar Mammadov and Omar Abulkarimov.

When speaking of the song, Eldar has said “It’s easy to turn a blind eye and to pretend everything is fine. Easy and cowardly. There are people who need us, our words, our support. It would be so great if everyone in this world at least once in a lifetime would have strength and ability to help someone.” The music video, which was filmed in various locations around Baku, tells the story of a guy who is trying to save a girl from drug addiction and a world of dangerous liasons. It was directed and scripted by Ganbar Mammadov and Omar Abulkarimov.

Catch If You Fall was originally shortlisted to represent Azerbaijan at Eurovision 2020 in Rotterdam, and it made it into the top 5 songs with Azeri broadcaster Ictimai, but ultimatley, it lost out to Cleopatra.
