Eldar Gasimov set to return to Eurovision 2025 as Music Producer for Azerbaijan.
Since joining the Azerbaijani delegation in 2023, it has been reported that Eldar Gasimov will be returning to the delegation for a third year running as Music Producer. However, Eldar will be joined by a new team in Basel as the Head of Delegation and Head of Press have been changed.
It was confirmed just a few days ago that current Head of Press, Nurlana Jafarova would be taking over as new Head of Delegation for Azerbaijan in Eurovision 2025. Nurlana has been involved in radio and television since 2006, working as Director of 106 FM radio from 2014 and 2016, and as Editor-in-Chief of Azerbaijan television’s Music and Entertainment programmes from 2017 to 2020, among many other things. She was also a jury member for Azerbaijan in Eurovision 2018.
Maksim Tsurkov, the current Director of İctimai television’s department of International Relations will be taking on the role of advising the General Director of Azerbaijani broacaster İctimai on all things Eurovision related.
Whilst nothing has been confirmed yet, it is likely that Azerbaijan will continue on with their tradition of having an internal selection for Eurovision 2025. Since the submissions window closed on September 15th, the broadcaster confirmed they had received 154 submissions for Eurovision 2025.
Eurovision 2025 will mark Azerbaijan’s 18th consecutive participation since their debut in 2008. Their best result came in 2011, when Eldar “Ell” Gasimov and Nigar “Nikki” Jamal brought Azerbaijan their first Eurovision victory with “Running Scared”.
Eurovision 2025 will be returning to Switzerland for the first time since 1989, following on from Nemo’s victory in Sweden. The city of Basel will be playing host the contest for the first time from May 13th-17th 2025.
