Carlo Conti reveals new rules for Sanremo Giovani

New rules incoming for this years Sanremo Giovani.

The new host and creative director for next years edition of Sanremo, Carlo Conti, has revealed that there will be new rules in place for Sanremo Giovani.

Sanremo Giovani will be made up of four selection shows which will take place on November 12th, 19th, 26th and December 3rd. These shows will be followed by a semi final on December 10th and the grand final on December 18th. A total of 24 artists will participate in these shows.

Six acts will perform their song in each selection show, and will compete in duels. Three acts from each selection show will advance to the semi final, which will be decided by a special jury.

On December 10th and 12th, the artists who won their duels in their respective selection shows will compete again in another set of duels. Only six artists will advance to the final from this round. These six artists will be joined by two artists from Area Sanremo.

In the final of Sanremo Giovani on December 18th, the eight finalists will perform their songs and compete in duels once more, with a mix of 50% special jury and 50% televote determining the winners. Four artists from the final will go on to compete in Sanremo 2025 in February.

At the end of May, it was confirmed that Italian television presenter Carlo Conti would be taking over from Amadeus as host and creative director of Sanremo in 2025 and 2026. Carlo has previously hosted Sanremo in 2015, 2016 and 2017.

The 75th edition of Festivali di Sanremo will be taking place between 4th and 8th of February 2025 at its usual home in Teatro Ariston. The stage will be designed by Riccardo Bocchini, who also designed the Sanremo stages in 2015, 2016 and 2017.

The first night will see all 24 artists performing their songs. The top 5 will be revealed in a random order. Night two and three sees 12 acts on each night performing their songs a second time, with the top 5 being announced in a random order. The fourth night sees the artists performing an Italian or international song with one or more Italian artists. The winner will be revealed on the night. The fifth night is the final – all 24 artists perform their songs again. The top 5 artists of the combined rankings from tonight and first three shows will advance to the superfinal. A mix of jury and televote will decide the winner.
