It has been confirmed that Carina Berg will host Melodifestivalen 2024.
Despite earlier reports that Carina Berg would be co-hosting Melodifestivalen 2024 alongside Swedish comedian Björn Gustafsson, it has now been confirmed that Carina Berg will be hosting Melodifestivalen alone.
“I can’t believe that I will be hosting the entire show. It’s the biggest television production I have been involved in, so it doesn’t just feel big, it IS big. It’s going to be so much fun and I’m looking forward to it.”
Project Manager for Melodifestivalen, Anders Wistbacka, has also chimed in on this news, stating: “For this year’s Melodifestivalen, we wanted a presenter with a capital P. We wanted a professional who is experienced, and loved by the viewers. Someone who can lead the show with a warm, glamorous and humorous tone. We put the question to Carina Berg and she said yes! I am very happy and proud and know that we have found the right one.”
Who is Carina Berg?
Carina Berg is a Swedish comedian and television presenter. She began her career at Sveriges Radio in Västernorrland, before venturing into television unoficially in 2004. Since then, she has hosted a number of popular television shows in Sweden, some of which include: comedy show Lilla vi (tar stor plats…); Idol 2007; Snillen snackar; The Voice and Bergs bärbara talkshow.
In 2008, Carina was voted “Best Female Television Presenter” by a panel of fourteen television bosses for Swedish daily tabloid newspaper Aftonbladet.
