BREAKING — American Song Contest Premiere Date Revealed!

| November 12, 2021

The American Song Contest is coming……and sooner than you think! Originally slated to begin in autumn/fall 2022, it has now been revealed by the European Broadcasting Union, that the American Song Contest will premiere on Monday 21st February 2022 with a two hour primetime extravaganza!

This means that the first winner of the American Song Contest will be known well before Eurovision 2022 kicks off in Turin in May next year.

The American Song Contest will feature original musical performances representing all 50 states, five U.S. territories (American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands) and the nation’s capital (Washington DC), with artists competing to win the title of Best Original Song.

A solo artist, duo or a band will represent each state/territory and perform an original song, that celebrates the different styles and genres found across America.

The live competition will consist of three Qualifying Rounds, followed by Semi Finals and an ultimate Grand Final where one state or territory will emerge victorious.

The EBU has teased that information will be forthcoming on the show, tickets, presenters, artists and, of course, Host City info!
