Bonsoir Europe: France is going to be the host of the 19th Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2021. This has been announced today on social media by the official Junior Eurovision channel. Unlike in Eurovision, the winner of Junior Eurovision doesn’t necessarily host in the following year. For example, Italy won in 2014 with the Tu primo grande amore by Vincenzo Cantiello. However, second place Bulgaria hosted the Junior Eurovision 2015 in Sofia.
After 33 years, France is finally going to host an Eurovision event again. In 1978, Paris was the host city of the 23rd edition of the Eurovision Song Contest after Marie Myriam’s victory the previous year with the song L’oiseau et l’enfant. In terms of the host city, no details have been announced yet. Considering that France is a big country with many possible venues, the host city is still unknown.
In 2020, Valentina earned the first victory for her country, France, in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest with the song J’imagine, with an impressive score of 200 points, winning both the jury and the online vote, Therefore, France managed a victory in the kids edition with it’s forth participation.
