Benjamin Ingrosso has unveiled his brand new song "Kite".
The Swedish pop star has returned with a brand new song titled “Kite”, a euphoric pop anthem that captures the exhilarating feeling of a new encounter, and the endless possibilities it brings. The song is about embracing life as a thrilling journey and a vibrant party. “Kite” serves as the lead single from Benjamin’s upcoming album set to be released later this year.
Benjamin has co-written the song alongside acclaimed songwriters Anya, Jon Shave, Salem Al-Fakir and Vincent Pontare, who have worked with the likes of Kylie Minogue, Britney Spears and Zayn Malik among others. Jon Shave has also served as producer on the track alongside Vargas & Lagola, who have worked with Madonna, Avicii, Sia, A$AP Rocky and Lady Gaga, among others.
“Kite” draws inspiration from the enchanting melodies that filled Benjamin’s childhood home. These melodies have been intertwined with the classic Swedish pop and soul sound of the 70s, as well as more modern sounds from the late 90s. “Kite” could be considered as a timeless track, as Benjamin goes onto explain:
“The rawness and grit of punk have been given more space, and I have consciously chosen not to have a more polished and ‘modern’ sound. ‘Timelessness’ is a key word for everything I’ve tried to create now. The lyrics are more straightforward, written from personal experiences but sometimes with a broader perspective. I don’t think I’ve ever been as excited about my music as I am with this song, and all the new music you’re going to get from me this year.”
Benjamin Ingrosso got his first big break in the music industry in 2018, when he won Melodifestivalen and went on to represent Sweden at Eurovision in Lisbon with the song “Dance You Off”. He finished the night in 7th place with 274 points. Since then, he has gone on to release a handful of singles and albums, which have proved very successful in Sweden.
He has won a Grammis (Swedish Grammy’s) for “Artist of the Year” in 2022, a Rockbjörnen-award for “Male Artist of the Year” and “Swedish Song of the Year”, and has received many more nominations throughout his career.
From April 1st to April 23rd 2024, Benjamin will be embarking on his “Better Days Tour 2024”, which will see him performing in Germany, The Netherlands, United Kingdom, France, Denmark, Norway, Italy, Spain, Finland and Sweden. Tickets can be purchased here.
