Conchita rules out Eurovision 2024 return
Eurovision 2014 winner Conchita Wurst has ruled out a return to Eurovision in 2024, in what could be considered a case of lost in translation.
An Instagram post from July 2023, (calling for submissions for Austria’s Eurovision 2024 entry), saw Conchita reacting to the post with a heart-eye emoji, which German media interpreted as Conchita wanting to come back to Eurovision in Malmö.
Kleine Zeitung have reported that Conchita doesn’t have any plans to return to the contest in 2024, with Conchita saying: “It took me years to realize my victory nine years ago and everything that happened around it and I’m now ready to say: Now someone else can win for Austria again.”
Earlier this year, Teodora Špirić and Selina-Maria Edbauer teamed up to bring us one of the biggest Eurovision bops, “Who The Hell Is Edgar?” Performing as Teya and Salena, they brought Austria into the Eurovision final, where they finished in 15th place with 120 points.
