Arina Pehtereva will represent Belarus at this years Junior Eurovision

| October 8, 2020

Belarus have gone internal! For the first time in their Junior Eurovision history, Belarus have internally selected their act for the contest, and this year, the honours go to 12 year old Arina Pehtereva who will sing “Aliens”.

Born in March 2008 in Mogilev, Arina has been singing since she was 6 years old. She has taken part in many national and international music festivals and competitions since 2014, and was also a contestant on The Voice Kids. She has also previously participated in Junior Eurovision national finals.

Speaking of the song, Arina has said: “The song was written in spring when the coronavirus spread around the world. The idea of my song is simple: The world has stopped, borders have closed, people can no longer visit each other and even the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020 is different. But I believe that the future is in our hands, and it is up to us children to save the world and make it better!”

Belarus has become the tenth country to announce their entry for Junior Eurovision 2020. We now are just waiting on Armenia, France and Georgia to reveal their entries, and then we will have the full line up for this years contest!
