
Hooverphonic’s band member and sound engineer Alex Callier, in interview with local news site VTM Nieuws, spoke about preparations for next years Eurovision Song Contest, and how the band are coming along with their 2021 song.

Hooverphonic were the first act to announce their participation for Eurovision 2020. They were due to sing their song “Release Me” with lead singer Luka Cruysberghs. After the cancellation of this years Eurovision, VRT didn’t hesitate, and announced Hooverphonic will still represent Belgium at Eurovision 2021. However, next year, they will be joined by former lead singer Geike Arnaert, after Luka was dropped from the band via Zoom.
