Just as the previous years, the winner will be determined with 50% of the votes from national juries and 50% based on an online voting, where the audience can vote up to three different countries for free, including someone’s own country which is a massive change from the adult Eurovision. Since the jury reward points to their 10 favorites songs (12, 10, 8-1 points) and only 12 songs are competing this year, there has been a change in the way how the jury votes are going to be presented. Instead of usual reveal of the lower points first, the spokepersons will first announce the 12 points, whilst points 10-1 will automatically appear on screen. This has probably to do with suspense reasons: If almost every country has already received votes, it is pretty obvious who’s gonna get the 12. In order to avoid this situation, this has been changed. If this presentation will be continued with (hopefully) a higher participation number of countries in the following years is unknown yet. The second part of the voting stays as it is, the country with the lowest jury votes will receive the online votes first, the winner of the jury votes will receive the online votes last to keep the suspense as high as possible.
