Swedish icons Alcazar are set to re-unite for Eurovision 2024 grand final performance.
There will be no Crying At The Discoteque as it has been confirmed that iconic Swedish trio Alcazar will be re-uniting and performing at the grand final of Eurovision 2024 on May 11th.
Alcazar, who ultimatley ran on and off between 1998 and 2018 with more line-up changes than we can count, will finally get their moment on the Eurovision stage. Having participated in Melodifestivalen five times, they never quite managed to pull off a win.
Their first entry “Not a Sinner, Nor a Saint” in 2003 made it to the final via the second chance round, where they eventually placed third. They returned in 2005 with “Alcastar”, and once again, qualified to the final via the second chance round to finish in third place once again. They qualified straight to the final in 2009 with “Stay The Night” where they finished in 5th place. In 2010, they brought “Headlines” to Melodifestivalen, but failed to advance from the second chance round. Their last participation was in 2014, when they finished in 3rd place in the final with “Blame It On The Disco”.
Television Producer for the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 thinks that a band like Alcazar are the perfect choice to perform at the grand final: “If there’s anyone who can get the festive atmosphere we want to create in the Malmö Arena to celebrate the 50th anniversary, it’s Alcazar. That’s why we’re so happy that we found a fun way to involve them so they could reunite with us for one evening.”

I’m in the UK and I have followed Alcazar since Crying at the discotheque. Bought their Albums and singles.
I finally got to see them at their farewell tour in Malmö. A Highlight of my life for sure. They have the Charisma, The Moves, The Songs to get everyone going.
Sadly they never quite made it to the mainstream at Eurovision and NOW they will. This will be a night to remember and cherish 😍
All they need to do is bring all this on Saturday night with their big upbeat tracks.
