17 cities have submitted a bid to host Eurovision 2022

After the bidding window closed just last night, RAI have now announced that a total of 17 cities and regions across Italy have officially submitted their bid to host The Eurovision Song Contest 2022. A total of 7 cities, 5 provincial capitals and 5 municipalities have all submitted a bid.

  • Acireale – Catania
  • Bertinoro di Romagna – Forlì-Cesena
  • Jesolo – Venice
  • Palazzolo Acreide – Syracuse
  • Sanremo – Imperia

From this list, we can see a notable absence of Bari, Naples and Verona, who all initially showed an interest in hosting Eurovision 2022, but have seemingly not submitted an official bid.

On July 14th, RAI will deliver bid books to each city or munincipality. They will have until August 4th to sumbit full details of their bid to host Eurovision 2022, taking into consideration all the criteria which has been set out by the European Broadcasting Union.
