The BBC have announced the creative concept and plan for the Eurovision 2023 postcards.
An incredible 111 locations across Europe and Australia will be featured in the 37 postcards for Eurovision 2023, making them the most varied and well-travelled of Eurovision postcards thus far.
Each postcard has been designed to introduce the audience to each participating act, using pioneering drone technology and 360-degree cameras to take viewers seamlessly between locations across Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and the remaining 35 participating countries.
In each postcard, three locations from each country are connected by the same theme, including: beaches, castles, colourful buildings, lakes, parks, ports, rivers and street art. They are all set to music from compositions by Dmytro Shurov, a Ukrainian musician and composer based in Kyiv.

Earlier this year, British video production company Windfall Films were commissioned, following a competitive tender, to produce the postcards for Eurovision 2023.
They have worked in collaboration with Ukrainian film production company 23/32 Films, who have organised shoots and secured aerial filming permits for the parts of each postcard that feature locations in Ukraine.
With the postcards for the remaining 36 participating countries of Eurovision 2023, local production crews were used where possible.
Rachel Ashdown, the BBCs Lead Commissioner for Eurovision 2023 has said of the postcards:
“The creative concept for the Postcards is much anticipated by fans every year. They are the perfect way to introduce each act to the combined 160 million people watching across the globe, and I can’t wait for audiences to see this year’s offering when they air in the Semi Finals and Grand Final. As well as the UK, Ukraine and participating countries being United by Music, viewers will be surprised to see what else unites us too.”
Sarah Cherniavskyi, executive producer for 23/32 Films, is pleased that her company has been involved with the Eurovision 2023 postcards: “We are pleased to participate in this project and to show that shooting of every difficulty level is still possible in Ukraine. This year’s Eurovision, despite not happening in Ukraine due to Russian aggression, will have our country in its heart.”
Eurovision 2023 will take place in Liverpool, United Kingdom, after it was decided that Eurovision 2022 winners Ukraine could not safely hold the contest in their country. The semi finals will take place on Tuesday 9th and Thursday 11th May respectively, with the final on Saturday 13th May.
